After 30+ years in financial management, here's what I know for certain: smart, capable women avoid their numbers because the fear was never addressed, only the math. Most accountants hand over reports and go quiet. I refuse to. Financial literacy is a leadership skill, not an accounting service, and nobody handed you the CEO side of your own business. So I teach it.

Three decades in the numbers. One decision that changed everything.
I spent 30+ years in financial management watching businesses of every size live or die by whether the owner understood her own money. When I built Profitable Penny Accounting, I made one bet: a woman who understands her own numbers is unstoppable. That bet built a business that funds my life instead of consuming it, the kind of freedom that lets me close my laptop for a grandson's graduation and know exactly what my business is doing without me.
Now I spend my days helping women build that same kind of freedom, one honest set of books at a time.

- Seven grandchildren, and counting my blessings.
They are the reason "time freedom" isn't a marketing phrase to me. Graduations, ball games, ordinary Tuesdays. I built my business so I never have to miss them.
- Butter pecan is my love language.
I love ice cream. Ice cream, unfortunately, does not love me back. We have a complicated relationship, and butter pecan is worth every negotiation.
- I founded I Am the Village.
My foundation, centered on family and legacy. Profitable Penny is my financial table; I Am the Village is my family table. It's just getting off the ground, and it's the work of my heart.
- My great big vision.
One day: single-family dwellings where families live as villages, learning to function together, support each other, and build legacy under one roof of purpose. I'm not dreaming small.
- I'm launching a blog called Stepping into Peace.
Writing about family, legacy, and helping the family unit grow closer. Keep an eye out for it.
- Flourishing at 60 is coming.
I'm considering a YouTube channel about what nobody tells you: hormones after 60 and the wild things they do to your body, your skin, and your hair. I'm living it, so I might as well talk about it honestly.
- Clean books still excite me.
Thirty years in, and a freshly reconciled set of books still feels like a made bed with hospital corners. I can't explain it. I've stopped trying.
- Criminal Minds, on repeat.
My favorite show of all time. I can watch it start to finish and start again. Honestly, if it has action in it, I'm in. Give me a good chase scene over a rom-com any day.
- Pasta and I are currently estranged.
Italian food, hands down, is my first love, and these hormones have complicated our relationship in ways it doesn't deserve. Meanwhile I recently discovered Indian food, and it's giving Italian real competition for my heart.
- When the laptop closes, a book opens.
Reading is my main thing. But I'm also chasing my creative side hard: I taught myself to crochet and knit, I'm teaching myself to quilt, I'm considering piano lessons, and one day I want to learn the harp. When I'm not doing any of that? I'm probably experimenting with AI. Yes, both. I contain multitudes.
